TALKIE TAPES® CUSTOM DIES, RECORDINGS and FINISHED TAPES
Read and understand all the items in both sections before ordering.
Payment for dies and special orders is required with order and is nonrefundable.
SCHEDULES & PRICES FOR CUSTOM DIE MASTERS*.
Standard Schedule = $300.00
Shipment of samples within 21 working days (4 weeks)
Rush Schedule: = $600.00
Shipment of samples within 11 working days (2 weeks)
Emergency Schedule: = $1000.00
Shipment of samples within 6 working days (1 week)
Full Prepayment is required and shall be in cash, check or money
order only, credit card is not acceptable for any nonrefundable charges.
1. The quality of the samples is not dependent on the schedule.
2. You may supply an original magnetic tape (see recording instructions below)
or we can do the recording for a minimal charge (usually less than $25.00).
3. Minimum original order for custom tapes is 2,000 tapes with no setup charges.
4. Prices for custom tapes are the same as for standard tapes, except add $50.00
set up charge for quantities under 5,000.
5. Shipment of custom tapes, after sample approval and order receipt, is within
6 working days, except on orders in excess of 20,000, which is negotiated at the
time order is placed.
6. Custom sayings are reserved for the originator's exclusive use, as long as
the saying is active (being purchased) and/or for one year after the last activity.
Thereafter the saying may be recycled, rerecorded or become a standard.
7. THE PURCHASER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL LICENSES OR AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED FOR
THE USE OF ANY PARTICULAR PHRASE. This refers to, but not exclusively, trademarked
or copyrighted materials.
THE SAYING
1. Decide on a simple short saying that will be very prominent on
the material that accompanies the tape.
2. The saying should not be more than 7-9 syllables, counting each space (pause)
as 1 syllable.
3. Total time from the start of the first sound to the end of the last sound may
not exceed 1.5 seconds.
4. Use an artist with a clear and crisp voice, either male or female.
5. Record on a reel-to-reel recorder at 7.5 ips or greater, full or half track.
Also PC or Macintosh 3-1/5 inch floppy disks or DAT cartridges are acceptable.
Cassette recordings are NOT acceptable.
6. Record each saying at least 10 times. Record the cut number and then the saying.
Example: "cut one..(pause)..THE SAYING"... pause ...."cut two......THE
SAYING"... pause ...."cut three......THE SAYING" .......- etc.
7. Keep the level and peaks as even and equal as possible, no large spikes.
8. Time the recordings for the 1.5 second limit, a max of 1.7 sec. is OK we will
shorten it digitally.
9. Rate these recorded cuts by preference. Example: Like 3 best, 2-4-5 are OK,
don't use 1-6-7.
